Salary:  circa £23,000 per annum pro-rata

The School of Engineering at the University of Portsmouth in collaboration with Medway Fibreglass Limited are seeking an innovative and motivated graduate to develop a new product.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious engineering graduate to fast track their career development as a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate.  The shorter KTP Scheme allows recently qualified graduates to work in companies managing challenging projects central to their strategic needs. http://www.ktponline.org.uk

 

The Company:

 

Medway Fibreglass Limited, based in Sittingbourne, Kent, design and manufacture composite products for industrial application including construction, leisure, marine and automotive sector.  The company wishes to extend their expertise and capability in the leisure industry and wishes to develop an innovative product to explore a new market.

 

The Role:

 

You will be involved in developing and testing a computer model for a counter-flow swimming pool. This will involve working closely with varies stakeholders to produce a complete computer modelling from early design stage.  You will also be involved in liaising with potential users of the counter-flow swimming pool.

 

You should have a good degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar. Knowledge of fluid mechanics and experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) packages, such as Fluent, would be an advantage.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work to deadlines.
