The Faculty of Technology is seeking to appoint an Academic Lead for Degree Apprenticeship and Employer Engagement.  The main purpose will be to be the academic responsible for the development and implementation of the Degree Apprenticeship route in Higher Education.

This is an exciting role in the Faculty and for the University requiring a person who can lead in this area, can facilitate team working and has excellent project management skills.

The post requires establishing educational partnerships with employers and further education providers as appropriate, to both identify opportunities for Degree Apprenticeships and ensure their smooth delivery in the Schools across the Faculty. This will involve working with all Heads of Schools/Departments in the Faculty and other academics and reporting to the Associate Dean Academic.

There will be an expectation that experience and good practice in this area will be shared more widely with other Faculties to continue to grow the provision of Degree Apprenticeships across the university.

The post holder would also be required to carry out a co-ordinated approach to employer engagement by working closely with members of staff in the Faculty Placements Office and reporting to the Associate Dean Students so that opportunities for placements and other forms of work-based learning are optimised and operationalised across the Faculty

There will be the expectation that the post holder will be able to contribute to relevant academic support, which may include teaching, as appropriate, for Degree Apprenticeships and will evidence the ability to work collaboratively with university colleagues to develop research in this area.

We are looking for someone who has or will obtain a post-graduate degree and has or will obtain a Higher Education Teaching qualification. Experience of working with industry and further education partners is desirable.
