The School of Creative Technologies at the University of Portsmouth aims to be at the forefront of cutting edge technologies in the Creative & Cultural Industries, covering Computer Games, Animation, Film, Television & Broadcasting, Music & Sound and Web/Mobile Applications in a vibrant, entrepreneurial, very well-resourced, cross-disciplinary environment.

 

The successful candidate will be joining a highly successful team delivering Contextual Studies to our 2 BA courses: Film Production, and Animation. Successful candidates can expect to be supported initially through mentoring by senior members of academic staff.

 

We are looking for a film or animation PhD candidate who can teach across a broad range of contextual studies subjects to students in FP and Animation. We do not expect the applicant to have full knowledge and teaching experience in ALL these areas, but competency in most will be required: film and animation history, film and animation aesthetics, narrative content and structure, study skills (including essay technique).
