Candidates are invited to apply for a fixed term, full time post in the Brain Tumour Research Centre within the School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science.
An experienced cell culturist/researcher at the level of Senior Scientific Officer is required to undertake a new post within the Brain Tumour Research Centre at the University of Portsmouth. The Centre is currently composed of postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and technical staff along with research internship and project students. The Centre is core funded by the charity, Brain Tumour Research who are also supporting this new post. The new cell culturist/researcher will hold responsibility for establishment of biopsy-derived brain tumour cell resources, DNA finger printing, maintaining records and overseeing a cell bank database. They will play an integral role within the Centre’s current research programmes.
The successful candidate will hold a relevant UG degree and preferably Master’s degree or PhD and will undertake a wide range of techniques from within the Centre’s very well-equipped cellular, molecular, and metabolic laboratories. The post is supported for 2 years in the first instance.
