The School of Art and Design invites applications for the post of Teaching Fellow (0.5) in Fashion.
We are looking for an individual who is knowledgeable, skillful and dynamic, who will be committed to helping develop students’ practical abilities and support them to realise the full potential of their ideas.
Our BA (Hons) and MA Fashion and Textiles courses are delivered through a studio and workshop-based curriculum, with an emphasis on the development of research and industry-informed innovative fashion and textile design. We utilise a variety of teaching and support methods on the courses, and encourage our students to take a hands-on practical approach to the development of their project outcomes.
The ideal applicants should demonstrate excellent teaching ability, together with high-level technical expertise in the areas of garment production ranging from pattern cutting through to garment construction. They should also have a real enthusiasm for the subject area and discipline. Strong organisational, inter-personal, problem-solving and administrative skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to remain calm and professional in a lively and positive workshop environment.
