The School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (PHBM) is seeking a dynamic individual to be appointed as a research lead in the area of Pharmacy Practice whilst also providing informed, inspiring and decisive leadership to our Pharmacy Practice team. PHBM has a substantial track record of success in both teaching and research, with well-established and popular courses and a diverse portfolio of internationally-recognised research. PHBM is one of three Schools within the University of Portsmouth that regularly attract research income in excess of £1 million p.a. Pharmacy Practice is supported by a team of dedicated and talented staff, who play an integral part in this growth of our academic profile and teaching excellence. The School works in partnership with the Drug Safety Research Unit, the regional NHS and the Academic Health Science Networks.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to guide the strategic direction of Pharmacy Practice and will contribute to the formulation and delivery of the School’s strategies, therefore, we are looking for a high-caliber individual with leadership capabilities, willing to share expertise and mentor others. The candidate will be expected to enthusiastically integrate research specialisms into teaching, while developing skills relevant to the graduate labour market, thus contributing to the strategy of research-informed teaching.
