In recognition of the success of the Faculty of Technology, the University of Portsmouth would like to appoint two Teaching Fellows in the area of Petroleum Engineering. The post holder will work with academic teams in the Schools of Engineering and will engage in activities across the Faculty of Technology.
We are seeking to appoint well-qualified and highly-motivated members of staff who will make a difference in the education of the future generations of engineers. The post holders will undertake teaching, tutorial and practical work supervision and the development of learning activities. The posts will also contribute to the design, delivery and administration of assessment and contribute to the excellent pastoral care across the School.
The post will contribute to the delivery of core and specialist units in Petroleum engineering, including Petroleum. Teaching with Economics, EOR, and Reservoir Simulation; focused on computational simulation activities and subject expertise in computer applications such as Petrel/ Eclipse/ tNavigator and IHS Kingdom are essential. They will also be enthusiastic about teaching and assessing in Higher Education and taking part in outreach activities.
Additionally the successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with relevant professionals and organisations who may wish to make use of our facilities. There will be opportunities to gain a recognised HE teaching qualification if appropriate.
