The University of Portsmouth has an extensive track-record and strong culture of undertaking world-class research, and applying this through engagement with external partners to identify and address local-to-global challenges. Building on this well-established foundation, the University is making a major investment in its capability through establishing five new cross-disciplinary research and innovation themes. Each theme will operate across and with all of the University's faculties, and will be led by a newly appointed senior academic Theme Director. The themes will bring together multiple areas of academic expertise and the insight of our external partners to deliver viable and high-impact solutions to real world problems.

As Research Development Officer you will play a key role in supporting the Theme Director in growing research and innovation activity within the theme area. You will be working with a wide variety of people as you identify opportunities and build connections within the University and externally. You will be able to see people and projects grow as you support the bid development life-cycle. As one of five Research Development Officers supporting each of the themes you will have the opportunity to share ideas and work together to develop effective approaches. There will also be opportunities to work collaboratively on projects that cut across theme areas. It is expected that Research Development Officers will work to support across themes when required. These new roles are a chance for you to shape the future of research and innovation at Portsmouth whilst developing your own career within a challenging but supportive environment.

Two posts are available.
