Portsmouth-Brawijaya Centre for Global Health, Population, and Policy (globalhealth.port.ac.uk) is a collaboration between the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom and the University of Brawijaya, Indonesia. The Centre research projects are funded by, among others, the UK Medical Research Council (MRC); the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the British Council Newton Institutional Link Fund. The Centre is embarking with a new MSc in Global Health Research Methods to be delivered through its campus at the University of Brawijaya, Malang, Indonesia from 2017, and at the University of Portsmouth from 2018. The current job vacancy is at the University of Portsmouth campus.

 

Applications are invited for a part time Lecturer (0.5 FTE) at its Portsmouth Campus to support implementation of the MSc in Global Health Research Methods and to be part of the MRes/PhD supervisory team. We are looking for a candidate with experience of teaching quantitative methods and a track record of research experience in using large scale data sets. Ability to work in a team in a multicultural setting is important for this job. The successful applicant will have a sound background in advanced statistics/quantitative methods applicable to social and public health. Travel to Indonesia is not essential for this job. The post is initially for a period of 5 years.

 

The appointment will be made on the Lecturer scale depending upon experience and qualifications.
