The School of Health and Care Professions at the University of Portsmouth is expanding academic development in established and emerging fields and roles. As a School we are committed to providing the students on our courses with a sound knowledge and evidence base that will prepare them to be safe and effective practitioners. We have a commitment to innovative learning methodologies, supported by sector leading simulation facilities and resources.

Applications are invited for the role of Teaching Fellow / Senior Teaching Fellow for our new MSc in Physician Associate Studies.  The successful applicant will have current and contemporary clinical experience and must have current valid certification from a relevant body (RCPFPA/NCCPA/GMC).  On appointment, the post holder will be encouraged to participate in activities across the Faculty of Science and Health and with external partners in Health, Social Care and Higher Education organisations and to contribute to the University’s vision and strategy.  

 

The post holder will be required to design and deliver evidence informed classroom teaching, simulation activity, including working with standardised patients and to offer pastoral support to our students, in addition to scholarly activities. They will be committed to the development of innovative approaches to pedagogy. Their teaching contribution will draw upon their specialist expertise as well as contributing to the broad coverage of provision across our courses. 

 

The successful applicant will be appointed on the Teaching Fellow or Senior Teaching Fellow scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
