The Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth invites applications for two full-time (or their equivalent) Teaching Fellow posts. Applications from those interested in a fractional post are however welcome to apply. We are seeking candidates able to contribute to both our practical and theoretical courses across foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular we are looking for candidates able to contribute to one or more of the following areas:
· Level 3 practical and theoretical film and television studies and skills. For this area we are particularly interested in receiving applications from candidates with FE experience
· Directing for fiction film and/or television drama
· Art Direction/Production Design for film and/or television.
· Location sound recording practices
· Experience in radio or television production
· Post-production skills such as ProTools, Adobe Audition, Avid, Premiere Pro, DaVinci and Adobe After Effects.
· Film and TV marketing, curation/programming and distribution.
The successful candidate will be joining a highly successful team delivering the Screen Skills accredited BA Film Production and BA Television Production courses and will be delivering practical and theoretical modules. This will include (but not be limited to) lectures, seminars, workshops and studio work together with personal tutoring and dissertation supervision
Academic and professional experience is essential together with a relevant postgraduate degree or professional qualifications. The ability to work as part of a team and flexible working patterns are also essential.
The School of Film, Media & Communication at the University of Portsmouth came into existence on 1st August 2018 and aims to be at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies within the Creative & Cultural Industries, covering Journalism, Film and Television Production, Media and Film Studies and Creative Writing in a vibrant, entrepreneurial, well-resourced, cross-disciplinary environment.
