The University of Portsmouth has an extensive track-record and culture of undertaking world-class research, and applying this through engagement with external partners to identify and address local-to-global challenges. We have a vacancy for a Grants Officer to join our professional and skilled team.  

As a Grants Officer you will play a key role in supporting academic colleagues in securing external funding to undertake research and innovation activity, helping the University achieve its ambitious growth targets in this area. Your role is wide ranging and will include providing expert advice and information to individuals, reviewing applications against funding criteria and identifying sources of funding.   You will also deliver training and development sessions and workshops to staff within the University and administer the peer review process.  You will develop a detailed understanding of funding body requirements through your own analysis as well as attending workshops, and networking with colleagues from other institutions.  This is a varied role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills and an understanding of the current research environment within higher education.  We are looking for proactive team players who thrive on new opportunities.  

You will join a team of existing grants officers in a central team and there will be opportunities to work collaboratively with others across the department.  Through this role you will be shaping the future of research and innovation at Portsmouth whilst developing your own career within a challenging but supportive environment.
