The School of Creative Technologies at the University of Portsmouth is at the forefront of state of the art technologies in the Creative & Cultural Industries. We have a supportive, dynamic, ambitious, very well-resourced, cross-disciplinary environment.

 

We are seeking to appoint part-time hourly paid lecturers to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and/or post graduate curriculum.  The number of hours worked is flexible and by negotiation.  The rate of pay will include remuneration for all work done in connection with teaching, preparation, setting and marking of work and examinations, related course administration and holiday pay accrued.

 

Join our highly successful team delivering our BSc degrees across the range of our extensive course portfolio.

 

In particular:

·       You will bring your passion and dedication to teaching one of these areas:

o    user experience theory and practice for interface development.

o    visual research, design and production methodologies associated with the film and game industries.

o    computer graphics theory and practice and use of relevant software tools such as the Adobe creative suite.

o    console games programming theory and practice.

o    the practice (and theory) of Computer Animation and have an ability to teach 2D and 3D animation theory.

o    compositing (in Nuke) and associated skills for VFX.

o    business management, leadership and entrepreneurship with a focus on the creative sector.

·       Ideally you will have relevant, and recent, industry experience.

·       You will be comfortable in a team environment as well as working individually.

·       You will be encouraged to be creative and innovative in the ways you engage students.

·       You will support of the School’s ambition to constantly improve, and be at the cutting edge of education across our disciplines.
