We seek to appoint part-time hourly paid lecturers/tutors to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and/or post graduate curriculum.  The number of hours worked is flexible and by negotiation.  The rate of pay will include remuneration for all work done in connection with teaching, preparation, setting and marking of work and examinations, related course administration and holiday pay accrued. 

 

The University of Portsmouth achieved the highest ‘Gold’ rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) the UK government’s first assessment of teaching excellence in higher education. The Faculty of Business and Law has a track record of sustained excellence in teaching and research as evidenced by the consistently very high student satisfaction scores in the National Student Survey, the excellent employability record of our graduates, and the results of the Research Excellence Framework (REF2014) submission. We offer a full range of degree programmes across business, management, accounting, finance and economics, including PhD and the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme. We combine excellence in research and scholarship with considerable business and consultancy experience, and provide leadership in the development and dissemination of sustainable business and management practice.

 

We seek to appoint part time hourly paid lecturers to contribute to the delivery of our undergraduate and/or postgraduate curriculum in Accounting & Financial Management.  Successful candidates will be appointed to the bank of PTHP staff available and offered hours as needed by the Subject Group.  The number of hours taught varies considerably and will depend both on the availability of the individual and the needs of the Subject Group.  All PTHP scheduled hours are inclusive of teaching, preparation, administration and marking.  PTHP staff are entitled to pro-rata annual leave allowance which is included within the PTHP rate.

 

Candidates must have relevant qualifications and demonstrably excellent communication skills suitable for teaching at University level.  They should also have a good knowledge of the accounting profession and an awareness of developments in the profession.
