Port Towns & Urban Cultures (PTUC) and Supernatural Cities (SC) research groups within the School of Area Studies, History, Politics and Literature (SASHPL) has an exciting vacancy for a Research Fellow. This post presents a fantastic opportunity to work with two internationally recognised research groups. The University of Portsmouth offers an outstanding place to work with career support and mentoring, a vibrant research culture, generous leave entitlement, regular social events, dedicated support for research development and CPD training opportunities.

 

The successful candidate will have relevant experience in the broad themes covered in one or both of the research groups; Port Towns & Urban Cultures and Supernatural Cities. They will have completed a PhD in a relevant subject and have a clear plan for future outputs. 

 

Duties will involve working with the research groups in the following areas; developing and writing of funding bids, liaising with external partners and community groups, participation in national and international research networks through attending conferences/workshops, editorship of websites and communicating through social media.  The Research Fellow will also pursue and publish their own research which connects with one or both of the research groups.
