An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Treasury and Banking team within the University’s Finance Department, in the newly created post of Investment Manager.

The University is in the process of sourcing significant funding for its ambitious estates masterplan. These additional funds, combined with the University’s existing and ongoing cash balances, need to be managed carefully and proactively in order to maximise return within the University’s Treasury Management Policy risk framework and to meet the University’s needs in respect of liquidity.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of managing large investment funds in an “in house” environment within the University or Local Authority sectors, and hold a relevant professional qualification in the area of Investment or Fund Management. They will be expected to contribute to the regular review and updating of the Treasury Management Policy and to complete regular reports and presentations to the University’s Board of Governors on the outcome of the implementation of the investment strategy.

The successful applicant will be based in the University’s main finance department, and primary responsibility will be to manage the cash deposits for treasury and investment management purposes and support the administration of loans and other forms of debt financing.
