We are seeking to appoint two permanent Teaching Fellows / Senior Teaching Fellows in International Security / Air and Space Power to work within the bespoke team that provides academic support to the Royal Air Force (RAF) at the RAF College Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

 

The successful candidates will enhance and complement the team’s existing expertise in Air and Space Power, International Security, International Relations and Military History. We would be particularly interested in candidates with an understanding of Space or Cyber Security or the willingness to further develop in the area.

 

The role involves teaching RAF personnel principally, but this appointment is integrated fully with the University and Faculty. It may also require occasional teaching at RAF Halton, Buckinghamshire. Appointments at Senior Teaching Fellow would be made for those with substantial contemporary experience in HE or professional military education with the capability to lead on academic development and admin responsibilities in the team.

 

The successful candidate is likely to have completed a doctorate or be close to completion, but professional qualifications and senior professional experience will also be considered. You will be committed to excellence in teaching at all levels, with support to develop teaching skills being available for less experienced staff. You will have drive, an innovative approach to research, learning and teaching, and enjoy working collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Experience of delivering blended/distance learning and practical student-led learning would be advantageous.

 

You must be willing to undergo MoD security clearance, and act to retain that clearance.  Please be aware that the role involves teaching outside of the standard academic term time.

 

The positions are available immediately and the successful candidate should be available to commence employment as soon as possible. The university offers a relocation allowance to successful candidates, conditions apply.
